Gate 64: The Gate of Confusion
The first and most important thing is not to try to rid yourself of confusion. It was, and is, and always will be there with you. You work through past memories and images in the hope of ordering them and making new sense of the situation when the time is right. This is how you explore life. It’s like exploring the night sky one star at a time. Where’s the benefit in that? You can take apart any mechanism and determine its significance or value. The danger is that several lifetimes would be insufficient to accomplish the task. As long as you are struggling to understand every nuance and permutation without applying your existing experience, you run the risk of missing out on something new and important from life. Stop fearing the future and go with the unknown flow because this is your natural habitat.
